Satbayev University has become a platform for ABEATS-2025: exchange of experience in science, engineering and business
On November 25-26, 2025, International conference The 7th ASEAN Business, Engineering & Technology Summit (2025) was held in Almaty on the basis of Satbayev University.
ABEATS is one of the leading Asian annual conferences that works towards the implementation of UN Strategic Development Goals, based on innovative developments and research in the business, engineering and technology spheres. This year, it was Satbayev University that became a co-organizer for the given ambitious initiative, providing a platform for exchanging the knowledge and experience.
During the two days of the conference, scientists from North America, Europe and Asia presented their research, exchanged practical experience and discussed key areas of development of engineering and technological solutions in the context of global sustainability. Much attention was paid to the integration of AI and engineering innovations, the application of new technologies and sustainable models in evolving the engineering and technical systems, and cooperation between universities and research centers.
"Hosting ABEATS 2025 at Satbayev University is a great opportunity for our researchers to establish scientific ties with renowned scientists, as well as present their scientific articles and research results to the world community. Symposium of this scale at the university once again highlights the status of Satbayev University as the flagship of engineering education and research center in Central Asian region. This is exactly the task that Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of 麻豆视频stan sets for us, and our university creates all the conditions for both our professors and young scientists," said Samgat Yermekbayev, First Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development.
"As a scientist, I am focused on clean energy research," said Professor Edwin Chi-Yang Tso, the representative of City University of Hong Kong and one of the key speakers at the conference. "However, we understand that clean energy alone is not enough, and we hope to work together to achieve Sustainable Development Goals together, bringing together different people: scientists, government, investors, and industry representatives."
Conference participants also paid great attention to practical workshops on preparing the scientific articles in cited journals. Experienced colleagues from universities around the world shared their vision of what to focus on when researching and preparing the articles.
"It is especially important that research design is inclusive, so that a wide range of people, including people with disabilities, can use the results of the work, and solutions remain sustainable for future generations," said Dr. Junaid Sayed, co-founder and technical director of Kolojic Ltd, who has made an outstanding career at the intersection of science and industry.
In turn, Satbayev University acted not only as the conference organizer, but also as an active partner: students and young scientists of the university participated in the sessions, showed their level and established contacts with foreign colleagues. During the conference, Satbayev University researchers participated in panel sessions on topics such as "AI Solutions for a cyclical economy and sustainable consumption," "Digital Technologies for Environmental Protection," "Ethical AI and Inclusive Governance for Sustainable Development," and "Promoting Digital Inclusion and Social Equality through technology." At these thematic sessions, researchers were able to present their scientific articles and the research projects results.
In addition, the conference included useful workshops from editors of scientific journals on writing and publishing scientific articles in highly cited journals.
